CAROLINE SCHEELFELDT LYKKEGAARD
Caroline Scheelfeldt Lykkegaard graduated from VIA University College in December 2018 with a BA degree in Fashion Design. At VIA University College she studied both womenswear and menswear. She has interned at Proem Parades (2020) and Second Female (2016) in Copenhagen and at Phoebe English in London, where she gained experience firsthand with the fashion industry.
Lykkegaard believes that thorough knowledge of materials, sourcing and production are to be value when working in the field of design. All of this contribute to a better understanding of the product and its value. That is why she never shies away from an opportunity to develop her skills within the trades that make up fashion design.
When creating womenswear or menswear she will always apply persistent attention to detail. During her time at VIA University she gave herself the challenge to explore the effect of a silhouette. Working with simple colors the details come to power. These small things create undeniable value as they give a garment its personality, while also creating pleasure for the wearer.
When working, she seeks creative nourishment in topics like technology, authority, authenticity and insanity. Topics that makes her reevaluate herself and her environment. It is her opinion that all of us must practice empathy and accept the responsibility that lie on our shoulders, in and around the fashion industry, to make a change for the better.
There is so much opportunity within fashion. To Lykkegaard fashion is a voice. It is a way of telling stories and sharing messages without the use of words.
